Content AnalysisPacketSure’s strong foundation of monitoring and blocking network traffic at the protocol level, now includes an added layer of security. Palisade’s newest technology, with a patent pending, identifies private data in files being transferred on the network based on analysis of the file content. Match specific data, such as social security numbers or account numbers, match credit card numbers, match structured data or specific text with extended regular expressions. Data-at-Rest Discovery AgentThe PacketSure Discovery agent is installed on workstations and servers to analyze data-at-rest in local file systems. It employs the same detection techniques used by the PacketSure appliance for analyzing data in motion. These techniques include searching for credit card numbers, social security numbers, personal heath information, personal financial information and more. The discovery agent runs as a service on workstations and servers silently scanning files locally stored on PCs and servers. Private Healthcare and Financial InformationPacketSure identifies private healthcare and financial information contained in files on your network and blocks the transfer of these files based on matching terms and phrases unique to private healthcare and financial information. Activating this capability is quick and easy - just select a couple of checkboxes. The ability to identify and block files that contain profanity is also included.
Email ProxyUse PacketSure as an email proxy to allow content analysis on all outgoing email. Route your SMTP email through PacketSure and specify which action to take when private content is found: continue with delivery, block delivery, or send to your encryption engine. QuarantineWhen content violations are found by the email proxy (see previous), they can be blocked, sent on to the recipient, or held in quarantine until further action is taken. From quarantine, there are options to releae the message to be delivered, continue to hold the email for further review, or block the email from being sent. The user can be notified of any action taken. Content Matching
Matching specific structured content from a company-proprietary database is another layer of content security. Information from a company’s database, such as specific social security numbers or account numbers, are inserted in the PacketSure database. As files are transferred on the network, the content is compared to the database, and files that contain any information found in the database are identified as private. Credit Card MatchingCredit Card numbers are a form of structured data that can be detected in the content of files. Each credit card company has their own scheme, or pattern, for generating numbers and this process analyzes content to identify numbers that may be a known credit card numbering pattern. Extended Regular ExpressionsExtended regular expressions identify structured content that has a consistent pattern, such as social security numbers or account numbers, or match specified text. They are efficient and accurate in identifying private structured content. |
